Classified Advertising with eProffer
Welcome to eProffer, the local choice for classified advertising. eProffer has been designed to be a powerful yet easy to use tool for internet users to buy and sell items in a wide range of categories. Items listed for sale on eProffer are searched for by category, results for categories may be ordered by date Added, Sub Category, Location (County, Town) or Price. Currently on your first login after registration you are allotted a free advert for one year.
Registering
You are welcome to browse eProffer without registering. You may also respond to adverts where the seller has chosen to publish their email address and/or telephone number. However, if you wish to contact sellers who have not published their contact details or place a classified advert you will need to register with eProffer.
To register with eProffer simply use the Register link at the top of each page. You will be required to enter your Name, the County, Town and Post Code where you live and your email address. Once you click the Register button you will be sent a confirmation email which will include your password for use in conjunction with your email address to log in.
My Control Panel
When you log into eProffer a welcome message with a link to your control panel will appear at the top right of the site. In your control panel you will see a list of your adverts showing their status and links to edit or remove the adverts.
There are three links towards the top left of your control panel:
- Add More Adverts – use this link to purchase more adverts for your account.
- My Details – use this link to edit your profile and choose whether you wish to publish your contact details with your adverts.
- Control Panel – this link is to your control panel home page.
Classified Advertising
With eProffer you can advertise items for sale in many different categories/sub categories. You will need to register in order to place a classified advert.
eProffer provides two different advert types:
- Annual advert – this advert remains fully editable (including changing pictures) for one year allowing you to use the advert to sell item after item.
- Single advert – this advert last for one year or until sold. Once you publish this advert it is no longer editable.
Currently upon your first login a free Annual advert is placed in your account.
Your adverts include a Title, Category/Sub Category, Price and Description. You may also opt to add a web site link, delivery details and up to two pictures with titles.
Placing/Editing a Classified Advert
You need to register before you can place and advert. Currently upon your first login a free Annual advert is placed in your account. You may purchase further adverts using the “Add More Adverts” link towards the top left of your control panel and filling in the form. These adverts will show up in your control panel with the status of “Not in use”.
Both Annual and Single adverts are edited in the same way. Simply click the pencil on the right of the advert you wish to edit. Enter the details of the item you are listing in the form then click the “Preview My Advert” button. If you are unhappy with your advert click the “Edit My Advert” button to return to the previous page. If you are happy with your advert click the “Publish My Advert” button, this will take you back to your control panel where your advert will be shown as “In use”.
Removing a Classified Advert
If you wish to remove an advert simply click on the “SOLD” link to the right of the advert. Note that Annual Adverts will remain in your control panel (status = Not in use) but Single adverts will disappear completely.

How much do adverts cost?

How are adverts prioritised?
Classified adverts placed on eProffer are treated equally. No one advert is prioritised over another for any reason.
How do buyers contact me?
Potential buyers may wish to contact you with an offer or wanting more information. They may do this by using your email address or telephone number if you have chosen to publish them with your adverts. Alternatively potential buyers can fill in the online form with a question or offer. The buyer needs to be registered and logged in to do this (this protects you from spamming). The form generates an email which is sent to you along with the buyers email address.
How do I respond to a buyer?
When a potential buyer contacts you using the online form their email address is included in the email that you receive. Simply use their email address to contact them directly.
Who pays the delivery costs?
Usually the seller will list the cost of delivery along with their adverts. Generally this cost is met by the buyer although this may be negotiable.
How do I contact sellers?
You can contact sellers directly by using their email address or telephone number if they have chosen to publish them with their adverts. Alternatively you can use the online form to contact the seller. You will have to register and log in to use the online form.
How are sales made?
The buyer contacts the seller either directly or using the online form. The seller can then contact the buyer directly. The sale is negotiated between the two parties and they arrange payment and delivery between them.
How do I pay for items?
The choice of payment options is entirely up to you and the seller.
